This is an evergreen shrub with fragrant flowers. Denoted by putting an X in front of it’s name, it is a bi-generic hybrid, which means that it is the result of crossing two different Genera and ending up with a new plant which has the characteristics of both.

It is a slow grower, but can achieve 2 – 3 metres in ultimate height, and does quite well on most good soils including chalk. It’s flowers are born freely in April – May and are very fragrant. The leaves are dark green, oval, slightly toothed, shiny and are 2 – 5 cms long.
