Spiraea

Useful deciduous shrubs in the early part of the year when flowering in April/May. This is Spiraea x arguta, the ‘Bridal Wreath’ or ‘Foam of May’

This red flowering type is Spiraea x bumalda ‘Anthony Waterer’, and looks terrific if a block planting is surrounded by Lavender.

Called ‘Magic Carpet’ this is good at making swathes of itself – see the image below …
