An aggressive spreader, Houttuynia is an excellent groundcover, particularly in damp soil. Best in a container if you don’t want it to take over.
This variegated form is a popular choice, and gives interest to shady/damp areas in the garden.
This variety is called Houttuynia cordata ‘Chameleon’.
