Griselinia

Latin Name : Griselinia littoralis

Having no Common Name that I’m aware of, the Griselinia is a fabulous evergreen hedging plant or large shrub which is suited perfectly for coastal areas. Inland, where winter frosts bite just that little bit harder, they need shelter if they are to avoid being scorched, as the black frost damage illustrates in this image.

The leaves themselves have a slightly succulent feel to them, and are a wonderfull ‘Apple Green’

In the right situation they can make a fabulous hedge.

There are variegated Cultivars out there … this is simply called Griselinia littoralis ‘Variegata’.
