Douglas Fir

Latin Name : Pseudotsuga menziesii

The Douglas Fir is not a true Fir Tree, it’s a Pseudotsuga. Belonging to the family Pinaceae, it is a large growing conifer and is an important timber growing tree both here in the UK and in the US.

 Impressive to look at, it is particularly noticeable if planted in small groups. Growing to 90M in Washington State and British Columbia, they won’t quite achieve that here, but they do get big …
